The Deuteronomy 13 Test is one of several tests in the Bible for distinguishing between true and false teachings. According to Deuteronomy 13, keeping God's Law is (a) following the ways of God, (b) loving God, (c) listening to God's voice, and (d) serving God. Also, according to Deuteronomy 13, not keeping God's Law and serving other gods are the same thing. Anyone who teaches others not to keep God's Law, even if they perform signs and wonders and their prophesies come to pass (God may cause a prophesy from a false prophet to come true in order to test us[1]), is a false teacher. And anyone who teaches others to serve other gods or to follow other gods is a false teacher.

When testing someone to see if they are true or false teachers, the Deuteronomy 13 test is the first test that they must pass. Anyone that fails this test is a false teacher even if they pass all of the other tests and all of their other doctrines are correct.
